A) Dholak is a very popular folk drum of northern India. It is barrel shaped with a simple membrane on both the sides, like a smaller version of the dhol.
B) The Sarod is a stringed instrument, used mainly in Hindustani music. It is known for a deep, weighty, introspective sound. The Sarod is an adaptation of the Afghan ‘rabab’, which arrived in India during the 16th century.
