File folders are crafted by hands by the Padhar and Bhil tribes of Gujarat. Two pieces of cardboard of approximately 14 x10 inches in size are covered with fabric and stitched to form a cover to hold paper and documents. The two sides can be held together by a Velcro clasp, button or a flap. The front of the folder bears a design such as sun or some tribal motif in embroidery or block print to make it attractive. Besides cotton, satin in different colors is also used in making file folders.
