About the Book:

An unlettered boy is uprooted from his blessed countryside, and planted in a small city. He recalls some of the challenges and qualms of settling into an alien environment made up of sophisticated people. He reminisces about his relationships with some unique, and interesting personalities who made a great impression on him, and helped shape him into being an idealist.

The writer relates a series of his life events that give him sweet sensations, and occasional shudders, in the lonely hours of the night. These events are marked by fun and fear, pain and pleasure, delight and despair, glory and humiliation, struggle and escape, anxiety and comfort, and above all, by his hopes and dreams.

About the Author:

Educated in India and the UK, Saulat Abbas hails from Bulandhshar, a city near Delhi.

He is an English teacher who is not only an ardent lover of literature, but is also a keen and enthusiastic traveler. Currently working at the King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Saulat Abbas has been teaching for over 25 years in many countries, including India, Malaysia, Taiwan, and the UAE.

He excels at translations, but has recently started creative and expository writing. Apart from reading and writing, Saulat Abbas has a passion for globe-trotting, and exploring world cultures which have impacted his life and work.
