But he stayed committed to the sciences and the disseminationof science, and has brought current developments in the sciences to lay newspaper readers througha weekly column since the year 2001.In an earlier book, Icons from the World of Science, he describes to the general reader the work often Indian scientists. In recognition of his work, in the year 2007, he received a national awardfor science communication from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
