A good quick read to see life from Khushwant Singh's perspective. His experiences, his views and his truths, all make a fantastic read. Specially if you are curious about India around and post partition please read this and all other books of Khushwant Singh. Although it might not stand tall as compared to other of his books ( For a regular Khushwant reader, there would be lot of repeated stuff), still worth a read for his superb English and great thought pattern. --By Nitin Malhotra on 26 July 2013Simply superb and very much bears the stamp of KS. About the Author
Khushwant Singh was born on the 2nd of February, 1915 in Hadali, British India. He was a lawyer, journalist, politician, historian and novelist. Singh's professional career started in 1938 with him practicing law. He was the recipient of a number of awards, most notably the Padma Vibhushan, awarded to him by the Government of India in 2007. The Padma Vibhushan is the second-highest award given to civilians in India. He has authored a number of novels, short stories, non-fiction works and plays. He died on the 20th of March, 2014, at his residence in Delhi, of natural causes. His death was mourned by the entire nation.
