Description

"Sawan Presents Shravan Kumar from Mythological Characters Series. Shravan Kumar is the dutiful son of old parents who are taken on a pilgrimage by him on foot across the Bharatvarsha. He is the son of King Dashrath of Ayodhya. He gets killed by the king accidentally when he shoots him based on the sound of a pitcher while filling water and mistakes him for an animal drinking water and his parents curse the King saying he will also die longing for his sons the way they were to die after the death of Shravan. As per this curse no son of King Dashrath is near him when he dies. He is the ideal son even today and those serving the parents are termed Shravan Kumar. The tragedy is that every woman wants her son to be Shravan but does not wish her husband to be one. Shravan symbolizes a virtuous son, who places his parents' wishes above his own comfort and wishes. He takes the trouble of taking them on pilgrimage since the parents are blind and weak.
Sawan Presents Sage Narada from Mythological Characters Series. Narada, or Narad Muni, is a god-sage, famous in Hindu traditions as a travelling musician and storyteller, who carries news and enlightening wisdom. He is one of the mind-created children of Brahma, the creator. He appears in a number of Hindu texts, notably the Mahabharata, telling Yudhishtira the story of Prahlada and the Ramayana as well as in the Puranas. Once God decided that it was time for Him to descend to earth to set matters right, most lesser Gods came down to like someone or the other to aid and enjoy a ringside view of epochal events. He is also referred to as Rishiraj, meaning the king of all sages or rishis. He was gifted with the boon of knowledge, past, present and future.
