Synopsis

This book tells the story of two inseparable brothers whom destiny takes to completely different worlds but still their fates were bound to meet through one enigmatic woman. The brothers are bound by a tragedy and by one fiercely brilliant woman haunted by the past. The younger brother impulsive and charismatic becomes a part of the Naxalite Movement. The older brother pursues a more sedate life as a scientist in America. Problems start when tragedy strikes. What is Subhash going to do when he learns of this, how his life and those of the others are going to change based upon the decisions he make.

Jhumpa Lahiri is a multi-award winning novelist. She has won the Pulitzer Prize for Interpreter of Maladies, her debut novel.
